11/12/06 - Congrats to Eileen Crane - she showed LC Trinity Lily to a 2nd and 3rd placing at the PPHSS in Stephenville, TX, on 11/12/06 in the Amateur Reining. This was her first time to show her mare, and only the second time out for the mare - we're very proud of them both!

9/4/06 - Bruce and Freckles win again at the Gulf Coast POR in Katy, TX! 8 judges, 8 firsts, jackpot winner. Freckles has earned 50 points with this show on her record, unofficially earning her Superior Award! Freckles is also leading the State (TSCC), GCPHC, PBPHC, and TPHC in Jr. Reining. Now listed on APHA Honor Roll in First Place in Jr. Reining and Reining All Ages.

8/27/2006 - Head Full Of Freckles is now listed in first place on the APHA Open All Ages and the Jr Honor Roll in Reining, with her current total of 46 points!

8/5/2006 - PBPHC Show - Abilene, TX - 4 judges - Head Full Of Freckles was 1st under all judges, marking a 74.5 under NRHA carded judge, Wayne Laske! Adds 8 more points for a total of 46. A really pretty run for Freckles and Bruce! Plans for Freckles include a breeding to Mark This Spot in 2007, and will be shown exclusively by Shelly in Amateur and NRHA after the 2006 show season is complete.

7/17/2006 - Got a note that Nicole Renick and Powder River Playgirl are currently tied for the state in CA in Jr. Reining, and 3rd in the Youth Reining. Way to go, Nicole!

5/26/2006 - Head Full of Freckles (pictured right) wins Circuit Championship and Jackpot at Texas Memorial Day Spectacular - Five 1sts and one 2nd! Adds 11 points to her record!

4/29/2006 – Bruce and Freckles have another successful show in Waco, TX – adding 10 more points to Head Full of Freckles' record. Now 1/2 way to her Superior in Reining, listed on the APHA Honor Roll in 3rd place in Jr, and 8th place in All Ages. Freckles is offered for sale, and will be shown until sold … check out pix and info in the Sale Barn.

3/25/2006 - Texas Wildflower Celebration P-O-R – Waco, TX --- Head Full of Freckles has her second career out – Reining All Ages – 10 head to show. Shown under 4 judges, FRECKLES and Bruce place 1st under 3 judges, and 2nd under one judge. They win the Circuit Championship, the overall jackpot, and 11 points. FRECKLES has now earned her ROM, and has a total of 15 points in two outs. We are very happy with the way this young mare handles the show pen, she has stayed smooth and pretty in both runs so far! FRECKLES has been entered in the APHA World Show, and her NRHA license is applied for. She will continue to be shown in APHA and NRHA competition until sold. Check her out in our Sale Barn!

3/16/2006 – Shelly rode Dunit With A Pistol (at left) to a Reserve finish out of 15 shown, in the NRHA Rookie class at the Cowboy Capital Reining in Stephenville, TX. This was the first time in 13 years that Shelly has shown a reiner, and had only ridden this horse a couple times before going to this show! Pistol is offered for sale in the Sale Barn – he’s a really nice gelding that has a lot to offer! He is very quiet in the show pen, goes where you point him, good to change, and a big turner and stopper! This was the first time in the pen for Pistol since the end of his 3 yr old year – A super nice horse for a Rookie/Ltd rider!! |
Powder River Playgirl has arrived at her new home in Norco, CA – Tina, her owner, reports that the hauler fell in love with her, she looks good, and everything is fine! Tina will be sending us updates on Playgirl's progress…Thank you, and we wish you all nothing but success with Playgirl!

2/11/2006 - Bruce took Powder River Playgirl and Head Full Of Freckles to their first APHA approved show in Waco, TX, and showed both in the Jr. Reining – This was the first time away from home for Freckles, and the second time away for Playgirl, and the first time both have ever been in a show pen...Freckles had a smooth, pretty run, and won the class under both judges! Playgirl had a couple small bobbles, but otherwise had a similar smooth and pretty run, for a second place finish under both judges! Freckles has earned 4 points in her first out, and Playgirl has earned 2 points in her first out! Needless to say, Shelly is very proud of both of her girls!! Both girls earned jackpot money in this show as well, so we’ll update their pages with $ amounts when we have received the checks…
